It takes its name from this location, with "mooka" coming from local Aboriginal languages and generally translating to "running waters." This stone formed from ancient siliceous sedimentary deposits, originating from marine environments rich in microorganisms, which were compacted and transformed over millions of years. It is distinguished by its warm, natural colors, ranging from red to yellow, including brown and purple, due to the presence of iron oxides and other minerals. Mookaite is mined in isolated regions of Western Australia, in the heart of ancient sedimentary formations. It belongs to the microcrystalline Quartz family.
