· The stone
The name Amethyst comes from the Greek word "amethystos," which means "not drunk." The Greeks regularly drank from amethyst cups to slow the effects of alcohol. According to a Greek legend, the god of wine Dionysus fell madly in love with a beautiful young girl named Amethystos. He coveted her, but she wished to preserve her purity. She therefore implored the goddess Artemis, who, to protect her, transformed her into a beautiful colorless crystal. Dionysus, furious, then threw his wine cup at the crystal, thus giving it its purple color.
A paw is gentleness that reassures, loyalty that accompanies, and protection that watches over you.
