The name Clear Quartz is said to come from the Greek word krystallos, meaning "ice". The Greeks believed that Clear Quartz was actually frozen water that could never return to its liquid state. It was therefore said that this stone allowed one to cool down.

At the time, Clear Quartz was associated with Gaia, the mother goddess, the Earth. Today, among other things, this beautiful gemstone is said to be able to recharge other stones and amplify their effects.
