This marvel was handmade in Brazil in a family workshop. Each piece is therefore unique.

Aventurine is a member of the Quartz family. It exhibits a particular optical effect: aventurescence. When looking closely at this gemstone, one notices that it contains tiny, slightly shimmering flakes (usually Fuchsite, the green variety of Mica). We know that it was already used in ancient China about 4000 years ago. Its name was only attributed to it relatively recently, in reference to a fortunate accident. It comes from the Italian "per aventure," which means "by chance." This refers to a discovery made by a glassmaker on the island of Murano who accidentally poured small copper flakes into a glass paste, thus creating a shimmering glass, aventurine glass. Aventurine was named by analogy to this glass.
