Agate Point with Moss Agate Heart 𖢻 Courage & Luck

Origin: Brazil.

The name Agate was given to this beautiful gem by the Greek philosopher and naturalist Theophrastus between the 4th and 3rd century BC. He found this stone near the Achates River (now called Dirillo) in Sicily. The inhabitants of the time actually knew about Agate and were already using it for decorative purposes but had not given it a name. Agate is mainly formed in volcanic environments. A silica-rich liquid seeps into empty pockets within the rocks. Due to pressure and temperature conditions, a crystallization process will take place. Agate will form layer by layer. For each of the layers, some chemical elements will vary or change in concentration. Thus, in this gem, colors and tones succeed one another to create stones with unique patterns and tones.
