According to an ancient Inuit legend, Labradorite is a crystal from the fire of the aurora borealis that was frozen by the cold. This small treasure only reveals its beauty when viewed from the right angle. It takes its name from the Canadian region of Labrador, which is where it was first discovered around 1770. However, it seems that the Inuit people had known this gemstone, which they called "fire stone," for much longer and attributed many properties to it. They even ground it into a powder to use in ointments and elixirs.
