It is its beautiful blue reflection (called adularescence in gemology), reminiscent of the lunar reflection, that gave it its name. In ancient times, this gemstone was said to be the stone of Goddesses. It belongs to the Feldspar family, like Labradorite, Amazonite, or Sunstone.
