Tiger's Eye is a polycrystalline Quartz, meaning it is formed of a multitude of small crystals, here in the shape of fibers. These can even be distinguished with the naked eye when looking closely at the stone. Its name comes from its resemblance to a tiger's eyes. It was already considered a protective gemstone more than 5000 years ago. Tiger's Eye contains asbestos, which will not harm you at all through simple skin contact, but could have serious consequences if ingested.
