According to an ancient Inuit legend, labradorite is a crystal originating from the fire of the Northern Lights, frozen by the cold. This little treasure only reveals its beauty when viewed from the right angle. It takes its name from the Canadian region of Labrador, where it was discovered around 1770. However, the Inuit people are said to have known this gemstone much earlier, under the name "fire stone." They attributed many properties to it and even ground it into powder to use in ointments and elixirs.
