This Amethyst Flower is a rare creation of nature, born in the deposits of Irai in Brazil. Unlike classic crystals, it has developed into an astonishing natural rosette, deploying its Quartz points in all directions like the petals of a flower frozen in time.

The name Amethyst comes from the Greek word "amethystos" which means "not intoxicated." The Greeks regularly drank from Amethyst cups to slow the effects of alcohol. According to a Greek legend, the god of wine Dionysus fell madly in love with a beautiful young girl named Amethystos. He coveted her, but she wished to preserve her purity. She therefore implored the goddess Artemis who, to protect her, transformed her into a beautiful colorless crystal. Dionysus, furious, then threw his wine cup at the crystal, thus giving it its purple color.
