Discovered in the 1800s, it was named after its first discovery in the southern United States in the Unaka Range mountains. Unakite is actually a rock, a mixture of several minerals, belonging to the altered granite family. It forms through both hydrothermal and metamorphic processes. Its appearance is quite characteristic: green, yellow-green, orange, and pink intertwine to create an atypical dance. It is mainly composed of Feldspar (pink-orange parts) and Epidote (green parts), sometimes with added quartz.
