Semi-Polished Agate Geode 𖢻 Courage & Luck

Gemstone: Agate.

When? For days when I need to remind myself that luck is on my side.

For: attracting luck, building self-confidence, and having courage.

Dimensions: 10 cm at its longest, about 9 cm at its widest. When the two parts are stacked, the total height is about 7 cm.

The name Agate was given to this beautiful gem by the Greek philosopher and naturalist Theophrastus between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. He had found this stone near the Achates River (now called Dirillo) in Sicily. The inhabitants of the time actually knew agate and already used it for decorative purposes but had not given it a name. Agate forms mainly in volcanic environments. A silica-rich liquid seeps into empty pockets inside the rocks. Due to pressure and temperature conditions, a crystallization process will occur. Agate will form layer by layer. For each layer, some chemical elements will vary or change concentration levels. Thus, in this gem, colors and tones succeed one another to create stones with unique patterns and tones.
