Mookaite is a variety of Jasper found mainly in the Mooka Creek region of Western Australia. It takes its name from this location, the term "mooka" coming from local Aboriginal languages and generally translated as "running waters". This stone formed from ancient siliceous sedimentary deposits, originating from marine environments rich in microorganisms, which were compacted and transformed over millions of years. It is distinguished by its warm and natural colors, ranging from red to yellow, brown and purple, due to the presence of iron oxides and other minerals. Mookaite is mined in isolated regions of Western Australia, in the heart of ancient sedimentary formations. It belongs to the microcrystalline Quartz family.
