Mookaite is a variety of Jasper mainly found in the Mooka Creek region, Western Australia. It gets its name from this place, the term "mooka" coming from local Aboriginal languages and generally translated as "running waters". This stone formed from ancient siliceous sedimentary deposits, originating from marine environments rich in microorganisms, which have been compacted and transformed over millions of years. It is distinguished by its warm and natural colors, ranging from red to yellow, including brown and purple, due to the presence of iron oxides and other minerals. Mookaite is extracted in isolated regions of Western Australia, in the heart of ancient sedimentary formations. It belongs to the microcrystalline Quartz family.
