According to an old Inuit legend, Labradorite is a crystal formed from the fire of the aurora borealis, frozen by the cold. This little treasure only reveals its beauty when viewed from the right angle. It takes its name from the Canadian region of Labrador, where it was first discovered around 1770. However, it seems that the Inuit people knew of this gem, which they called "fire stone," for much longer and attributed many properties to it. They even ground it into a powder for use in ointments and elixirs.
