According to an ancient Inuit legend, Labradorite is a crystal from the fire of the aurora borealis that was frozen by the cold. This small treasure only reveals its beauty when viewed from the right angle. It gets its name from the Canadian region of Labrador, which is the first place it was discovered around 1770. However, it seems that the Inuit people knew this gem, which they called "fire stone," for much longer and attributed many properties to it. They even reduced it to powder to use in ointments and elixirs.
