Tiger's Eye is a polycrystalline Quartz, meaning it is formed from a multitude of small crystals, here in the shape of fibers. You can even see them with the naked eye when you look at the stone up close. Its name comes from its resemblance to a tiger's eyes. It was already considered a protective gemstone more than 5000 years ago. Tiger's Eye contains asbestos, which will absolutely not endanger you by simple skin contact but could have serious consequences if you put it in your mouth.
