Tiger's Eye is a polycrystalline Quartz, meaning it is formed from a multitude of small crystals, here in the shape of fibers. These can even be distinguished with the naked eye when looking at the stone up close. Its name comes from its resemblance to the eyes of a tiger. It was already considered a protective gemstone over 5000 years ago. Tiger's Eye contains asbestos, which will absolutely not endanger you through simple skin contact but could have serious consequences if you put it in your mouth.
