Peridot, like Diamond, is one of the stones that form deepest in the Earth's mantle. In ancient Egypt, it was attributed all sorts of mystical properties, including that of warding off bad dreams. It was also nicknamed "Stone of the Sun". Strongly associated with volcanic activity, Peridots rained down during the eruption of the Kilauea volcano in 2018.
