It is sometimes also called Heliolite. Sunstone exhibits an effect similar to what is observed in Aventurine, called aventurescence. This magnificent gemstone contains small platelet-shaped inclusions that give it a shimmering effect. Classically in Sunstone, these inclusions are Hematite and Goethite. There is a rarer variety of Sunstone that contains Copper inclusions.
