The name Rhyolite comes from the Greek words "rheîn" and "lithos," meaning "flowing stone." It is a rock composed primarily of quartz, but also of several other minerals. Rhyolite is a volcanic rock that allows the naked eye to observe various mineral nodules that have formed within it.
