The name Rhyolite comes from the Greek "rheîn" and the word "lithos" meaning "flowing stone". It is a rock composed mainly of Quartz but also several other minerals. Rhyolite is a volcanic rock that allows one to observe with the naked eye different mineral nodules that have formed within it.
