Tiger's Eye is a polycrystalline Quartz, meaning it is formed of a multitude of small crystals, in this case in the form of fibers. These can even be distinguished with the naked eye when looking closely at the stone. Its name comes from its resemblance to a tiger's eyes. It was already considered a protective gemstone more than 5000 years ago. Tiger's Eye contains asbestos, which will absolutely not endanger you through simple skin contact but could have serious consequences if you put it in your mouth.
