Agate Slice 𖢻 Courage & Luck

Gemstone: Agate.

When? For days when I need to remind myself that luck is on my side.

For: attracting luck, building self-confidence, and having courage.

Dimensions: Approximately 12.5 cm long, 11 cm wide, and 0.7 cm thick.

The name Agate was given to this beautiful gem by the Greek philosopher and naturalist Theophrastus between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. He found this stone near the Achates River (now called Dirillo) in Sicily. The inhabitants of that time actually knew agate and already used it for decorative purposes but had not given it a name. Agate forms mainly in volcanic environments. A silica-rich liquid seeps into empty pockets within the rocks. Due to pressure and temperature conditions, a crystallization process occurs. Agate forms layer by layer. For each layer, some chemical elements will vary or change in concentration level. Thus, in this gem, colors and tones follow each other to create stones with unique patterns and tonalities.
