Agate Slice 𖢻 Courage & Luck

Gemstone: Agate.

When? For days when I need to remind myself that luck is on my side.

For: attracting luck, building self-confidence, and having courage.

Dimensions: Approximately 16.5 cm long, 14.3 cm wide, and 0.6 cm thick.

The name Agate was given to this beautiful gemstone by the Greek philosopher and naturalist Theophrastus between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. He found this stone near the Achates River (now called Dirillo) in Sicily. The inhabitants of the time actually knew about Agate and were already using it for decorative purposes but had not given it a name. Agate mainly forms in volcanic environments. A silica-rich liquid infiltrates empty pockets within rocks. Due to pressure and temperature conditions, a crystallization process will occur. Agate forms layer by layer. For each layer, some chemical elements will vary or change in concentration level. Thus, in this gemstone, colors and tones succeed one another to create stones with unique patterns and tones.
